National Prison Radio will be bringing prisoners entertainment and laughs on Christmas Day with the cast of the hit BBC comedy, People Just Do Nothing.
MC Grindah, DJ Beats, Chabuddy G and Steves will be joining National Prison Radio for Christmas Dinner. Over a starter, a main course and dessert, they will be reminiscing on funny stories, sharing their favourite tracks and talking about how they use comedy to get through the tough times.
On a previous visit to HMP Brixton, Steves gave us his advice for getting through the Christmas period: “Listen to National Prison Radio and listen to our show, laughter is key for survival”.
As well as serving up Christmas Dinner with Kurupt FM, we’ll be delivering special shows to prisoners in the cells, throughout the holiday season.
Throughout December, the National Prison Radio advent calendar will be broadcast on our breakfast show Porridge. Our host Ali will re-play and reflect on some of our best audio moments of the year.
This will include visits and interviews from Louis Theroux, Kathy Burke, George the Poet, Jumpin’ Jack Frost, Seani B, Katie Piper, and many more.
National Prison Radio presenters will also reveal the most requested artists on National Prison Radio in 2024 – prisoners will be able to hear this count down on the Request Show from Boxing Day to New Year’s Eve.
Last year, British rapper Jordan McCann was National Prison Radio’s most requested artist, will he top the charts again?
We will also be broadcasting a special programme showcasing talent from across the prison estate, called Prison’s Got Talent, at 9pm on Christmas Day.
And if our listeners listen hard enough, we’ll be giving out some clues on who you ‘wannabe‘ on National Prison Radio in 2025…
To help people stay connected to their loved ones, there will be a special Family and Friends Request Show on Christmas Day. If you’re listening outside prison, you access the show here on Mixcloud on Christmas Day.
If you haven’t already submitted your requests for your loved ones for 2025, you can do so at www.nationalprisonradio.com.
Christmas Dinner with Kurupt FM will be broadcast on National Prison Radio on Christmas Day 2024.
