If you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim an extra 25p back from the government for every £1 you give – this can really make a difference to the PRA and the work that we do!
The government’s Gift Aid scheme allows us to reclaim tax on donations. For your donation(s) to be eligible for Gift Aid you must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax for each tax year (6 April one year to 5 April the next) that is at least equal to the tax that the Prison Radio Association reclaims on your donations in the appropriate tax year, as well as the tax on any donations you have made to other charities.
If you make a donation online you will automatically be asked whether or not you would like to Gift Aid your donation. If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can claim further tax relief in your Self-Assessment tax return – see the HMRC website for further details.
