Award-winning Ali presents National Prison Radio’s daily breakfast show Porridge, but life was not always this way.
National Prison Radio first worked with Ali back in 2019 whilst he was serving a sentence inside HMP Brixton.
Now, Ali is out, living his best life and producing and presenting Porridge full time.
Ali inspires, motivates and entertains NPR listeners Monday-Friday morning. His familiar slogan with prisoners is, ‘whether you are eating your breakfast or brushing your teeth, stay tuned to the Porridge show’.
And at this years prestigious Audio Production Awards, Ali received a silver award for Best New Voice.
This years entries were very strong, and Ali feels extremely honoured to have won this award.
Ali has had an incredible year, providing continuous company to those behind bars. To many people in prison, Ali is a friendly voice they can rely on to cheer them up every morning.
