Our award-winning podcast Life After Prison with Zak and Jules is back for its sixth series, packed with fascinating interviews, loads of information to help support people on their journey after release and a brand-new strand of the podcast, ‘The Spark‘.
On Thursday 11th July, presenters Zak and Jules are back for another groundbreaking series, talking to people who have transformed their lives since leaving prison.
In the first episode of series six Zak and Jules meet comedian Nabil Abdulrashid as he drops in to the studio in the midst of his Purple Pill tour. Nabil chats to Zak and Jules about his journey from Nigeria to one of London’s most notorious estates, how he ended up in jail and what he did to pass the time while he was there. He also talks about his comedy career, how his early love for comedy got reignited in prison, how people in jail recognised his comic skills and what happened when he realised he’d got the Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent.
Later on in the series we meet Chris Atkins, the host of the A Bit of A Stretch Podcast, and many other interesting guests.
This season the Life After Prison team are launching ‘The Spark‘, a brand-new strand that sits under the Life After Prison umbrella.
In The Spark, incredible women who have been through the criminal justice system sit down with our presenter, Jules to discuss the spark that they found either in prison or since leaving, which set them on a path of transformation and change. For Jules, that was fitness. She’s now a successful Personal Trainer, using the qualifications she achieved during her prison sentence.
Life After Prison continues to astound with its success. Life After Prison content has recently reached 11.8 millions views or listens and 77% of listeners have taken positive action after hearing something on the podcast.
Zak and Jules also recently won Silver for Best Speech Presenter at the UK ARIAS 2024. This is after being crowned Best New Presenter’s last year against the best broadcasters in the business. Life After Prison also picked up a Bronze for The Grassroots Award.
Zak and Jules continue to break barriers, share stories, and redefine the narrative of life after prison.
