Life After Prison nominated at British Podcast Awards

Deemed the ‘biggest night in podcasting’, the British Podcast Awards takes place on Thursday 26th September 2024 and the Prison Radio Association’s smash hit podcast for prison leavers, Life After Prison, is up for two awards.

Now in its 8th year, the British Podcast Awards celebrates the talented people in front and behind the microphone contributing to the UK podcast scene.

This year the awards received hundreds of entries across 25 categories, for which the shortlist was compiled by a panel of more than 75 expert industry judges.

Our award-winning podcast Life After Prison is nominated in two categories:

– Best Interview

– Best Specialist Award

Life After Prison is a podcast series and online community for people affected by the criminal justice system.

The podcast is hosted by Zak and Jules – two people who are part of the community themselves, having both been released from prison in 2019. Their personal experience of the resettlement journey is crucial to the success of Life After Prison.

Life After Prison aims to pick up where National Prison Radio left off for tens of thousands of people who are resettling into society after a sentence.

The podcast has already picked up multiple awards since its launch in 2022 and Zak and Jules continue to impress people with their genuine and authentic nature.

The British Podcast Awards will take place on the 26th September, hosted by comedian and broadcaster Marcus Brigstocke at HERE at Outernet, Denmark Place, London.

National Prison Radio was founded by the Prison Radio Association – a registered charity. Shows like Life After Prison help people to cope with life inside prison and thrive on release.
